Delhi University (DU) has officially launched its admission process for the 2025-26 academic session, opening registrations for both postgraduate (PG) and three Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programs. According to university officials, the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for PG admissions went live on Friday and has already seen a significant response.
By 5:40 PM on Saturday, 9,226 candidates had registered for PG admissions, according to DU’s Dean of Admission, Haneet Gandhi. The registration window for both PG and BTech programs will remain open until June 6, 2025.
Single Portal for PG Admission
The CSAS(PG) – 2025 portal acts as a unified platform for applying to all PG courses across the university’s departments, centres, and affiliated colleges. This streamlined approach aims to simplify the admission process for students, ensuring transparency and efficiency.

An essential requirement for candidates is to choose only those PG programmes in which they appeared for CUET(PG) – 2025, and to which they are academically eligible. DU’s admission bulletin clearly states that only the programmes selected by the candidate on the CSAS portal will be considered during the allocation process.
Application Fees
Candidates from the unreserved (general) category will be charged ₹250 per PG programme, while those belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories need to pay ₹100 per programme.
BTech Admissions Based on JEE (Main) 2025
In parallel with the PG process, DU has opened admissions for three BTech courses:
-
Computer Science and Engineering
-
Electronics and Communication Engineering
-
Electrical Engineering
For these technical programmes, the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE (Main) 2025 Paper-I will be used to determine admission. Allocation will be based on a combination of rank, student preferences, and available seats in each programme.
New for 2025: More Personalization, More Clarity
One noteworthy update in this year’s process is the increased emphasis on student choice and academic alignment. Candidates must carefully select their preferred programmes and ensure eligibility to improve their chances of seat allocation. DU has also launched an FAQ section and helpline services to assist students in navigating the portal.

Something Interesting: A Record-Breaking Trend?
With over 9,000 students signing up on the first full day, DU may be on track for a record number of PG applications this year. According to university sources, interest in interdisciplinary programs such as environmental studies, gender studies, and artificial intelligence has notably increased—indicating a shift in student priorities toward emerging global challenges and industries.
As the June 6 deadline approaches, students are encouraged to double-check their eligibility, complete their registrations, and list their programme preferences carefully. Delhi University continues to rank among India’s top public institutions, and the competition for seats—especially in tech and research-oriented programs—remains intense.
